Electronic Devices (including laptops, PDAs and mobile phones)

Woodford House recognises that there are times when it is genuinely appropriate and useful for students to have access to portable electronic devices (including laptops, mobile phones, other handheld wireless devices, electronic data players, digital cameras and storage devices). Unless specifically authorised it is neither necessary nor acceptable however, for these devices to be switched on or used during the school day or to be used inappropriately during permissible times of use.

Telephones and mobile phones:

Each House has its own telephone. Boarders are permitted to have only one mobile phone.  If a student has a mobile phone, the Electronic Devices Contract must be completed.  

A separate phone is available for girls to use in the hallway after 8.00pm:  

o This telephone is for incoming calls however girls may use it to phone family, as a privilege.  Girls may have approximately 10 minutes.
o Calls will be stopped if inappropriate language is used.
o This phone is not for members of other Houses.
o This phone may not be used after bedtime.
